I ordered these in July, but because they are a Japanese P/N they only came now. These plug into the factory harness for my Land Cruiser, which didn’t come with heated seats in the US for...reasons? The only problem is that I don’t have the factory heater pads. No worries, I’ve already had some carbon pads installed and they appear to be wired the exact same (though the diagram shows resistors and thermostats in the factory location...not sure if that’s in the heater element or in the harness.)
Speaking of diagram...I gotta figure out how to make this all work. From what I hear it’s just a matter of hooking up the right wires on the pads and adding a ground to the harness in the seatback. I bought the pins needed to do this right so when I’m done it will be like factory.
Now if only I had the cruiser. I dropped it off this morning to have the front axle rebuilt because I have too much homework to worry about getting it done myself before this trip. New seals and new CVs.
I doubt I will get to this project before my trip either, which is too bad because the last night’s low temp is going to be 16 and the high 46

I admit to becoming pretty fond of the heated seats in my Acura. Its pretty great to have some warms when the engine isn’t warmed up yet and you are pissed off that you have to go to work. A freezing bathroom is a little higher on my hate list, I have a V ornado in the bathroom during the winter. I may have to go back home someday.

Nice upgrade! I love heated seats, my ass is very spoiled. They're also great on long road trips if you have a cranky back.

As the owner of a base model Hyundai Accent that doesn’t even have any features whatsoever....
....what are these? :P

I had one of these in a previous home. First thing in the morning I would turn the heat on and close the door. After breakfast, the bathroom would be nice and toasty.

Hmm that’s an idea. My cousin moved here before I did and he is a big contractor now. The bathroom fan isn’t great so I may do that.

Since the M37 has flat seats with canvas covers to hide things I may get some aftermarket system to put heat pads on those. The bench seat has the battery and a bunch of space so I have a lot of room to add whatever.

Spoil yourself and do it, but tell your wife you did it for her.

Well she may say the Vornado works just fine, it gets hot in there with it.

Hey how are the new seats so far? Been considering getting a full cushion/leather replacement for my front two (back and third row appear to have almost never been used by P.O.).

okay. The leather I think was too short so they feel a bit overstuffed right now, I hope that will go away.

yeah that’s actually the main driver for thinking of replacement - I have a bad lower back and after a recent trip up to northern MN in the LX I was quite sore.

its that stupid rod in the lower back on these seats. I’m hoping the new seats plus the heat will be a boon to my back.
